After a much needed break I am ready to get back into the swing of things. And what better way to start things back up than with a post about one of my favorite roleplaying series Lunar! The first two games in the series that were released to the states was originally released on the Sega CD then later re-released on the Sony Playstation, Playstation portable, and Gameboy Advanced. It is also one of the first RPG’s to utilize a voice cast and animated sequences.
I really love this game series, another one I also regret selling during the transitions of the various companies releasing new consoles. The game had a very bright storyline, a very engaging gameplay, and an awesome soundtrack. Mind you, this was way before the Sony Playstation and the release of Final Fantasy 7. I have actually played all of the re-released versions of the game series on their respective consoles and handhelds, the ones released in the States that is.
This was one of many games I would play on my weekends from school, enjoying hours and hours of playing, and one of the reasons I ended up getting a Sega CD. The re-releases weren’t too bad at all, the Playstation versions were enhanced a bit, the Gameboy Advanced one I didn’t care for much because I felt the only way to really appreciate this game was on a console with all of it’s animations, voices, and soundtrack in full glory.
If you can manage to track down either Sega CD or Playstation versions of this game I say grab them!

One of my favorite rpgs as a kid. The first time I ever saw a video game cut scene as well. I would love to talk more about somehow merging or working together on retro reviews. I run retro-replay.com. I don’t advertise and want to keep it that way for a long time, but I feel if we worked together (I’m talking to a few other people) we could create one kick ass database. Just let me know if interested. I think it could be fun.

I would like to work with you rather than merge. I see my page as something where I can share the things I like and try to do something positive while doing something constructive. I will also email you if you don’t catch this.
