A hard partying baby photographer and his family are left a hefty inheritance by his mother-in-law, but there is one stipulation. In order to receive the inheritance he must stop drinking, smoking, gambling, drugs, and lose weight.
While this isn’t my favorite Rodney Dangerfield movie, it is still one I enjoy quite a bit. Especially given the above plot and how Rodney’s character Monty has to try to go “on the wagon” and lose weight.
My favorite scene is when Monty is told to take up a hobby and he decides to work on model planes, while trying to glue a model of a Messerschmitt he has trouble concentrating because his daughter is practicing her violin in the next room. Rodney’s facial gesture during the entire scene always cracks me up.
I definitely enjoy this movie every time I get to the chance to watch it. I also miss a bit of the late comedian’s humor in this day and age.

Cool! Sounds like a fun film.
Wow. Have I actually lived? I’ve never seen anything with Rodney Dangerfield in it. And worse – I have heard of the name, but always thought it was ‘Roger’ Dangerfield! Oh, my horizons are expanding so much, the earth may swallow me!!
Really? Looks like I might have to do a “Welcome To My Geekmare” on my favorite comedic actors.
Hee hee. Yes: really.
