Planes, Trains and Automobiles
A high-strung advertising executive is trying to make it home for Thanksgiving with his family. After unsuccessfully not being able to make any headway, he meets up with a shower curtain salesman who lives in an obviously different way than himself in attempt to make it home.
“Planes, Trains and Automobiles” is another of my favorite John Candy movies, as well as one of my favorite John Hughes movies. It is also one of my favorite holiday movies, at least one I do enjoy watching as Thanksgiving rolls around.
There are a couple of moments that I recognize with because of my own experiences with traveling. Especially for how frustrating they were until they were resolved.
My favorite scenes are where Steve Martin’s character is trying to get a rental car and decides to give the redhead lady behind the counter (I forget her name, but have seen her in countless movies and television shows), the near disastrous run-in with the semi trucks as they are being warned they are going the wrong way, and the pillows scene.
Every time I watch this movie, as well as certain other movies, it makes me miss snow. As well as other things that I used to do as the holidays roll around.

This is one of the few Candy movies I love. And I love the wrong way scene.
That scene is awesome.
Me too Red

up by his nuts so to speak, indeed there are
so many for instances that I could rattle on
for ages on this one, I also enjoy that scene
called ‘Mess Around’ where he gets caught
up in his seat and spins the car onto the wrong
side of the carriageway, what fun
